How I’m Farming Instagram Pt.2

Okay, so my last attempt was a great outline for how to authentically build an Instagram following for my business. Yet it lacked one crucial element, ACTION! I briefed my team on all the plans for Instagram, set up an easy template to follow, and then made posts for the whole month…We have since last month reassessed our Instagram goal and implemented some action in our plans. The new plan is to:

  1. Edit all photos using a gritty militarized style
  2. Post at least 3 pictures per post.
  3. Use a simple caption.
  4. Use the wall of tags I made in “How I’m Farming Instagram”.

Social media can be fickle at times, and of course would be so much simpler if we could just have one thing go viral and gain a massive following. But until that happens, I think this will be a great way to create interesting content, and so far it seems to be drawing in over double the amount of likes as any given post would have a month ago. Having a separate platform that is a little more flashy is pretty fun too because I get to be a bit more creative while taking glamour shots of replica guns and gear. What could be better than that? In all honesty, having an Instagram does help us reach a different crowd and look better to potential sponsors. Many teams in airsoft could stand to do a better job of publicizing what they’re making or showing off their existing work in some way.

The goal for Instagram would be to have a few thousand followers, so when we ask companies for a sponsorship they can see that we have a significant amount of reach on that platform. I have dedicated myself to youtube, facebook, and Instagram so there is a lot to manage and curate. Everyone helps to make posts on Facebook and I’m working with one other person on Instagram, but I still find that I’m doing a lot of management in many places. I would like to make it so I do not have to hand build every element of a post and just manage the schedule of what is posted and only jump in when it’s my allotted time or if other team members need help. The reason I need to see this kind of autonomy inside the team is that Praxis will most likely have me move away to my business partner right in the middle of our busy season. I need to make sure everyone can conduct themselves efficiently, so when I’m gone things don’t fall into disrepair.
